How to Fold Baby Clothes

Are you by any chance an anxious mother who's frustrated by the messy baby clothing drawers as they refuse to stay organized even after hours of folding baby clothes? Or are you worried about the lack of space in your home as your little one's collection of clothes keeps growing? Even worse, are you a working parent who has to compromise their sleep during midnight, struggling to find the perfect onesie for your newborn after an ill-timed call for the baby's diaper change?
If yes, then don't worry cause you're definitely not alone! Since we're here with the perfect solution for you!
The socks or shirts of your little ones are so tiny that it can get intimidating and may seem almost trivial to organize them. However, if done properly once, it can save you a lot of effort, space, and – obviously 'time.' The most important key factor to remember is that organized closets are not maintained by how much time you spend on sorting them out but the technique you use to fold your newborn's clothes and the ways it benefits you in arranging them.
Hence, we will be teaching you the most effective, one-time effort 'KonMari' technique on how to fold baby clothes. Your life will become a lot easier and sorted out, just like your baby clothing drawers.

Difference Between Techniques of Folding Newborn Clothes:

(Traditional vs. KonMari)

In the traditional way of folding baby clothes, you stack one folded piece of clothing over the other until there's a vertical pile of clothes in every space of the drawer as if cotton cloth buildings have been spread out. Thus, it makes you unable to see which shirt or pant lies at the bottom of this stack and as you go on a venture to find that 'specific piece,' you've already jumbled up the entire drawer. And hence, you work on sorting baby clothes again, only for the notorious cycle to repeat two days later. Or worse, 2 hours later!!
On the other hand, the KonMari technique is the easiest way of folding baby clothes as it focuses on folding the newborn clothes in a way that enables them to stand upright and stack them side by side (not over one another) as rectangles. This helps you to see all the clothes in the drawer without being covered or hidden and quickly take out the ones you're looking for in a single glance.

Advantages of KonMari Folding Technique:

  • Saves almost double the space. (Folds clothes in threes or fourths, making the size almost half of that through the traditional folding technique)
  • Minimizes wrinkles (since each piece of clothing is kept separately)
  • Easier to find the clothes you need
  • Saves time. "No more midnight frustrations or unnecessary sighs. Woohoo!!"
  • One-time effort. Keeps baby drawers insanely organized throughout.

How to Fold a Baby Onesie:

  1. Lay the onesie on a flat and clear surface
  2. Flatten out any creases.
  3. Fold the onesie in half vertically, sleeve to sleeve, as their ends meet.
  4. Fold the sleeves inwards so they lay straight on top of the body
  5. Fold the onesie in half horizontally. (Thirds)
  6. Repeat by folding the onesie in half horizontally again to save additional space. (Fourths)
  7. Gently, put the folded baby onesie in the drawer in an upright position till it stands still.

If it stands straight, then congratulations, you've overcome the daily hassle of initial parenthood. If not, then remember that 'consistency is the key.' We assure you that by the end of folding all your newborn's clothes, you'll be experienced enough to even teach others and save them the trouble as they send prayers of blessings towards you.
